LakeKyleKyle, TX – Lake Kyle Park is now open from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week, allowing for extended use of the facility for picnics, fishing, hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities.

The park hours had previously been limited by the Parks & Recreation Department’s ability to have staff at the park while it was opened. This rule was part of the City’s agreement with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s (TPWD) guidelines for a managed conservation preserve, which is what Lake Kyle was created to be. The public’s respectful use of the park since its opening has allowed the City to loosen this rule.

Office hours at the park are currently Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm, however city staff are working on ways to extend the office hours as well.

Lake Kyle is a managed conservation preserve and was acquired and developed with grant funding to preserve open space, water quality and natural habitat. Because of this, the park is fenced and gated and has specific park rules to preserve the natural resources and ensure the park’s availability for future generations.

The public is asked to help continue to preserve the natural habitat for future generations to enjoy. Trashcans are placed around the park for park users.
