You! We are always interested in original contributions that add value to our community! Kyle Life exists because of our wonderful community and, if you have some writing skills, maybe you can help!
Why write for Kyle Life?
This is your community. There are huge sites like Yelp or Google that offer review/guide areas for cities BUT Kyle Life is established solely for the greater Kyle, Texas area. Did you eat at a local restaurant and love your experience? Then write about it! Maybe you’re a local realtor and would like to offer your expertise on home buying while plugging your services? We’d love to hear from you. Kyle Life is for locals, by locals!
What are we looking for?
If you are a part of our community, you probably already know the answer. If not, browse through the categories to get a feel for some of the areas we focus, especially those areas you’re skilled and knowledgeable.
This is what we’re looking for:
- Clear communication – It really helps if your article is written clearly and easy for readers to understand the point you’re trying to make. We review all articles before they publish and will let you know if/why your article may not have been published to the site.
- Authenticity – It does our community no good if we have people from out of the area reviewing local Kyle, Texas businesses. If you’re going to write up an article that is reviewing the cheese enchilada plate over at your favorite Mexican food restaurant, you’d better have eaten that cheese enchilada plate and not just writing an article full of fluff on a topic you have no experience with.
- Depth – Plain text articles are perfectly acceptable, but we love when our contributors provide other media as well. For example: you just sat down and ordered that potentially awesome cheese enchilada plate, why don’t you take some pics of the food when it arrives? Maybe take a short video of yourself talking about the plate? Obviously, none of this is required BUT it adds flair to the article AND will probably elevate your article into our “featured” section.
- Expertise – You don’t have to be a college graduate with a degree in critiquing food. What we mean by expertise is that we LOVE it when we get local experts writing articles that are relevant to our community. If you’re a local banker and would like our community to know why a certain type of investment is better than another, write about it. The best part is that our articles will always have an author “bio” box after the article (see pic below) where you can plug away at who you are and what you do.
- We do not allow affiliate marking links or obvious self-promotional content; however, you may include a complete bio, with links, in your author profile as discussed above and shown below.
